"I started china painting after I quit working in kindergarten. I
went from designing bulletin boards and kindergarten artwork, to
painting flowers and leaves on porcelain. I took lessons once a week in
Lee Merritt's basement. For me creating china art is relaxing and fun.
Christmas is my busiest time of the year although I paint all year. I
have my own kiln and do everything at home. If you would like to see my
work, please stop by for a visit." |

"I became interested in primitive, hand-carved wooden duck and geese
decoys when I lived near Cape Cod. I've read up on the lives of the old
master carvers, trying to pick up tricks of the trade they utilized.
I've talked to old carvers on North Carolina's Outer Banks, trying to
pick their minds.
Several years ago I decided to try my hand at duplicating these
primitive decoys. The early ones were pretty good. They became
progressively better. I've been lucky enough to have sold many of them
at Americana festivals, in antique shops and have had some auctioned off
at Ducks Unlimited fund raising banquets.
Most of the decoys I've carved were made from storm damaged pine found
along side of the road in Forest Hills." |

"I grew up in Vermont in the middle of great natural beauty and with
a vast appreciation of traditional and non-traditional arts and crafts.
I majored in Art, and in Education at Allegheny College in Pennsylvania.
I spent 42 years in education as a teacher and high school
counselor-teaching the art of creating a life. I now play with my art,
making clothes, designing and making bead jewelry, quilts, custom wall
hangings, and weaving. One of my greatest pleasures has been living and
creating in Forest Hills for two years." |

"I have studied art all of my life in one way, shape or form. I took
interior design classes at the Kansas City Art Institute. Then I moved
to the south where I studied Fine Art at the University of Alabama in
Birmingham. During my education I primarily worked with acrylics on
canvas, watercolor, mixed media, lithography and metal sculpture amongst
an array of other mediums. I teach pottery classes in my basement
part-time. I also have two booths at Scotland Yard Antiques on the
square in Lawrenceville. I enjoy going to auctions and estate sales in
search of hidden treasures.
For me, artwork is meditation in motion. Nothing is ever planned
out. My pieces surface from the subconscious. My work becomes the
vessel, connecting me with spirit. My hope is to eventually combine
pottery, mixed media and painting, maybe even welding - bringing it all
together in perfect harmony."
